There was a new twist in the case of Kobe Bryant’s death
The family of Ara Zobayan, the helicopter pilot who killed Kobe Bryant in the crash, is asking for the trial to be moved from Los Angeles because of the NBA legend’s great popularity in the city, TMZ reports.
Zobayan’s family doubts the impartiality and objectivity of the jury in Los Angeles, which calls into question the fairness of the trial.
The widow of the legendary player, Vanessa Bryant, previously sued the helicopter company Island Express Helicopters. The lawsuit States that Zobayan was negligent in driving the vehicle. Vanessa Bryant wants several hundred million dollars in compensation from the company for the death of her husband and daughter.
Kobe Bryant is a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers. He was twice recognized as the most valuable player of the final series. Bryant died on January 26, 2020. His helicopter crashed into a mountainside near Los Angeles. In addition to the basketball player and his 13-year-old daughter Gianna, there were seven other people on Board. They all died.
